After a long hiatus, I've finally started writing a little bit again!
Here is a short piece titled "enough" that's been worked and reworked a few times
Living in a world where girls are told they’re loved
But only when they get trimmed and tucked to fit in your box like a glove
You’re perfect as you are! We promise. We swear. We’re doing this because we care.
Move some ass to your tits and get a smaller waist
But it’s not all bad ‘cause you have a pretty face.
Sometimes I wonder how the love in her eyes
Doesn’t shine
When she gazes into a mirror,
How the romance in her smile becomes muddled
And unclear.
And sometimes I ask myself why the world seems so dark
When there are girls like her
With a blameless spark!
How can the world be viewed through lenses
Colored anything but rose, that doesn’t see
The beauty in her. The beauty in you. The beauty in me?
Now you’ve heard this all before, but I have every right
To talk the same old talk and walk the goddamn walk.
Because we will not stop till our words have been heard and our songs have been sung
And something finally has been done.
